Painting with a cat, "Comfort"

The work is part of the project My world takes care of me, which was based on a presentation book written and illustrated by Maria Mateescu, and two exhibitions.

The theme of plants and pets is one of the main subjects present in a large part of this suite of works. In some works, the cat or the geranium flower are represented as a shelter, a comfortable space.
The human character sheltered near plants and animals no longer plays the role of master over those on earth - a conventional concept we have become accustomed to over time, but rather it is he who this time finds refuge and lodging in the midst of nature, he who is received and reconnected.
The relationship of man as master - animal mastered by man is eliminated and replaced with a relationship of friendship and communication, in which plants and animals tell stories and are listened to. Man is the vulnerable one, who needs protection and help from the natural world.

I named the painting Comfort, because the model I painted, Pisa, becomes a fluffy and warm couch for humans, and the roles are reversed - for us, humans, interacting with pets relaxes us...

The painting is very suitable for animal and tea lovers, for those who usually ponder, with their head in the clouds, dream, contemplate and enjoy the small and simple things that make our lives beautiful.

It is an art print made using the giclee technique on special Fine Art Matte paper with a matte, velvety appearance.
